Cognitive and neuropsychological assessment: what to expect

Cognitive assessment typically involves:

  • Assessment of emotional well being with child/young person and parents - approximately one hour (usually online with parents and face to face with child/young person)

  • Cognitive assessment with child/young person – approximately one and a half hours face to face

  • Developmental history

  • School liaison

A feedback session (usually online) and an assessment report and recommendations are included in the assessment fee. Fee for cognitive assessment is £650.

Neuropsychological assessment typically involves:

  • Assessment of emotional well being with child/young person and parents - approximately one hour (usually online with parents and face to face with child/young person)

  • Neuropsychological assessment with child/young person which often will include cognitive assessment – approximately two and a half hours face to face

  • Developmental history

  • School liaison

A feedback session (usually online) and an assessment report and recommendations are included in the assessment fee. Fee for neuropsychological assessment is £900.
